One fateful night in San Sebastian, the promise of just that led us on a life-changing, but ultimately fruitless search for a place called ‘The Baby Goat’.
.We can't tell you exactly what happened on that night, but it turns out The Baby Goat never existed. Since then, that name has been synonymous with our hunt for the best place to grab a beer.
.Our love of pubs has led us on many a search for a truly great pub, one that we could call our local. But we never found 'The Baby Goat’.... so we figured we’d start it ourselves.
The Baby Goat is our beer brand, but it's not just about the beer. Let us break it down for you:
.The Proposition - A craft beer brand, delivering our brews through proper pubs. We're calling it The Baby Goat.
.The Vision - Craft beer and pub culture as a facilitator of connection and community growth. Combining a passion for great beer and a desire to create a place for people to be together.
.The Mission - To bring people together through our beer. Growing a community of GOATs; sharing time, fun and experiences.
GOAT PEOPLE.
Work or play, It’s about being with people and the great things that come from that.
GOAT BEER.
We have a passion for great beer. Once our hobby now our profession.
GOAT TIMES.
FUN IS at the heart of everything we do.
A GOAT STORY.
We want to create something we’re proud of, and in the end have an amazing story to tell.
'An Englishman and a Dutchman start a pub in Hamburg…' sounds like the start of a joke, but this is for real.
.We come from cultures with rich pub/bar culture. That’s a beautiful thing, focussed on people and community, and we'd be lying in saying we don't miss that about home.
.But we love Hamburg. And it has its own identity, culture, and the foundations of that pub spirit. So we hope to contribute to the growth of that in our new home. It's just as much about building a community as it is the brews. And frankly, it’s also just a lot of fun!
Well our name is quite silly for starters.
.We're different in that we don't see our brand centred on a single thing: the beer is important, as is the pub, distribution, hosting/supporting events and building partnerships with those around us.
.And different in no way means ‘better’. Variety is the spice of life, so it’s simply fun that everyone has their own way of doing things.
.We brew beers that are tasty and drinkable. 'Craft' can be inaccessible, and want to bridge that gap. Any beer we brew is with a ‘3 beer rule’ in mind: If you can’t drink 3 of it then it doesn’t fit.
