Core Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons, ensuring a welcoming and enjoyable experience.
  • Food and Beverage Preparation: Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, beer, cocktails, and other beverages according to established recipes and standards.
  • Maintaining Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cafe, bar, and dining areas, including regular cleaning of equipment and surfaces.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of food, beverages, and supplies, reporting to the manager to order needed supplies.
  • Payment Handling: Processing payments from customers using the provided payment methods - cash and digital. Management of the cash draws.
  • Menu Knowledge: Have a thorough understanding of the menu offerings, including ingredients, allergens, and preparation methods, to assist customers with their selections.
  • Upselling: Proactively suggest additional items and upsell menu items to increase sales and enhance the customer experience.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, food handling guidelines, and alcohol service laws to ensure a safe and legal environment for patrons and staff.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other staff members to maintain a cohesive and efficient work environment.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong multitasking abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple orders simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions and calculating orders.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques, beer varieties, and cocktail mixing preferred but not required (training will be provided).
Qualifications and Key Features of the Role:
  • 3 years experience in a similar position
  • Experience in stock management systems
  • Food handling experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in the respective jurisdiction.
  • A passion for providing excellent customer service and creating memorable experiences for guests.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow within the role and the organisation.
