Core Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the cafe, beer, and cocktail bar, including operational readiness, staff management, inventory control, and customer service.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise cafe and bar staff, ensuring high standards of performance, professionalism, and customer service.
  • Financial Management: Monitor financial performance, including sales, expenses, and profitability, and implement strategies to maximise revenue and minimise costs.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels of food, beverages, and supplies, conducting regular stock checks and placing orders as necessary to maintain optimal levels.
  • Customer Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Menu Development: Collaborate with management and staff to develop and update menu offerings, ensuring they align with customer preferences and market trends.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, food handling guidelines, and alcohol service laws, maintaining a safe and legal environment for patrons and staff.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Contribute to marketing and promotional strategies to attract new customers and increase sales.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high standards of quality and consistency in food and beverage preparation, presentation, and service.

  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and staff.
  • Financial acumen, with the ability to analyse financial data, develop budgets, and make informed business decisions.

  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to address challenges and capitalise on opportunities.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the business.
  • Knowledge of coffee, beer, and cocktail culture preferred, with a passion for providing exceptional hospitality experiences.
Qualifications and Key Features of the Role:
  • Previous experience in a managerial role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a cafe, bar, or restaurant setting.
  • Bachelor's degree or industry training in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with a track record of driving results and achieving business objectives.
  • Ability to lead by example, setting high standards for customer service, professionalism, and performance.
  • Understanding of local regulations and laws governing the operation of cafes, bars, and restaurants.
  • Creative flair and a passion for innovation, with the ability to keep the business fresh and competitive in a dynamic market.
