Café & Bar Staff (Part Time)
Bar Staff.
Core Roles and Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons, ensuring a welcoming and enjoyable experience.
- Food and Beverage Preparation: Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, beer, cocktails, and other beverages according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintaining Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the cafe, bar, and dining areas, including regular cleaning of equipment and surfaces.
- Payment Handling: Processing payments from customers using the provided payment methods - cash and digital. Management of the cash draws.
- Menu Knowledge: Have a thorough understanding of the menu offerings, including ingredients, allergens, and preparation methods, to assist customers with their selections.
- Upselling: Proactively suggest additional items and upsell menu items to increase sales and enhance the customer experience.
- Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, food handling guidelines, and alcohol service laws to ensure a safe and legal environment for patrons and staff.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other staff members to maintain a cohesive and efficient work environment.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong multitasking abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple orders simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions and calculating orders.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques, beer varieties, and cocktail mixing preferred but not required (training will be provided).
Qualifications and Key Features of the Role:
- 1 years experience in a similar position
- Experience in either bar service/cocktails or Café/barista service
- Food handling experience.
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in the respective jurisdiction.
- A passion for providing excellent customer service and creating memorable experiences for guests.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow within the role and the organisation.
